Meet Celebrant Trainer Nicky
Hello, I’m Nicky, (She/Her) I live with my partner, 2 Border Collies and our cat just outside Glastonbury, in sight of Glastonbury Tor.
I am an experienced wedding and funeral celebrant, who has led 100’s of ceremonies, weddings, and funerals alike and I am also a Funeral Director.
Not one of the wedding ceremonies have been ‘traditional’ and they have all been outdoors. The funerals have been from the traditional type to the very unusual, think massive papier Mache cows head in a crematorium, to a festival funeral in the middle of a very wet field.
Why I Prefer Funerals
My preferred area of celebrancy is funerals, morbid right? Absolutely not, yes you must deal with grief and varying forms of it, and every single family meeting you attend will be different, but the satisfaction of knowing you helped that family give their loved one a cherished and meaningful goodbye is hugely rewarding.
Having led ceremonies in crematoriums, natural burial grounds, graveyards, village halls, pub function rooms, clients’ homes, and gardens and even in a stretch tent in a rain-soaked field, it is important for people to be made aware that funerals are not restricted to crematoriums or churches. Families are not always made aware of what is available and should be given choices in every aspect of a funeral, you can lead the way in helping them achieve what they want.
You are the Future of Celebrancy
We need a new generation of celebrants, and I want to help you become part of the next generation. Prepared to go above and beyond to create and lead outstanding ceremonies. Together we will make you an exceptional funeral celebrant, tuning your listening skills and honing your skills to engage with families to build trust and confidence in you.
We will work together towards your certification. If you’re openminded, creative and have vision then we will get on well together, and soon have you underway to becoming a very special funeral celebrant, making families feel valued and aware of the choices they have.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your path to becoming a celebrant.
