Will I be able to officiate legal marriages in the UK when I complete my course?

No you won’t be able to officiate legal marriages.

Am I guaranteed to pass my course?

A

No. Our courses are based on your ability to learn and demonstrate learning and not everyone will pass if they are unable to do this.  We will work together to do what is required for you to pass your course. It is hard work but enjoyable.

Are there too many celebrants and will I be able to make a living as there are so many?

A

Firstly there are many celebrants, all offering different ceremonies and services. How many coffee shops are there within a town? They all seem to be viable businesses, and more are opening. Like everything you get out what you put in. The more determined you are, the more successful you will be.

How long do I have to complete my course?

A

From sign up to course completion the following timeframes are in place:

Certificate in Wedding Celebrancy 5 months
Certificate in Funeral Celebrancy 5 months
Certificate in Wedding, Funeral and Life Events 10 months

Will I receive a nationally accredited qualification upon successful course completion?

A

No. Currently there aren’t any nationally recognised or required qualifications needed to become and work as a celebrant.

Can I choose evening or weekend training sessions?

A

Yes. We all have family, employment or personal commitments and our training sessions can be on an evening or a weekend. This will be agreed with your chosen trainer.

Can I swap my chosen trainer for another?

A

Yes, you can. All Choice Celebrant Trainers are wedding, funeral and life event celebrants, all with different styles.

Can I complete the Life Events Module by itself?

A

No. The Life Events Module is only available upon completion of the Certificate in Wedding Celebrancy. It is included within the Certificate in Wedding and Funeral Celebrancy.

Q

How Long Does It Take to Train as a Celebrant?

A

You can choose to complete your celebrant training within a few days on our Accelerated Learning courses.
With our group celebrant training courses you will complete your training within a week.
Online celebrant courses can be completed within 9 weeks if you do one course, or 18 weeks if do both wedding and funeral celebrant training.
You can start working as a celebrant in that field of celebrancy as soon as you have successfully completed that related course.
